Message built very well - I've not seen any pulleys I can recall that were showing any obvious sign that the intertia ring had excessive slop in it, but I'm sure it has happened somewhere along the way. This would affect the dampening abilities of the pulley, but without having a lot of knowledge on the subject I can't say how much it will affect things. I would definately say though that if your engine suffered a rod bearing failure, you should definately replace your dampener/pulley.
